Day 1: NOVEMBER 2010
Route: Durban – Hluhluwe
Depart at 07h00 from your Hotel and travel through the scenic sights of Zululand to one of Kwazulu – Natal’s World Heritage Sites – St Lucia. Few places on earth can rival the bio-diversity of this 38 000 hectares Lake St Lucia Park. This vast un-spoilt area has at its heart – Lake St Lucia, which is connected to the sea via a narrow estuary. Our first stop is at the launch site of our charter boat, for a two-hour boat cruise on this magical water wonderland and help you decipher what bird that is calling and give you more fascinating information on the large water mammal the hippo as well as the devious Nile Crocodile that is lurking around. Lunch stop will be in the small fishing village of St Lucia (for clients own account). Overnight at a lodge in the Town of Hluhluwe.

Day 2: NOVEMBER 2010
Route: Hluhluwe
After breakfast depart for the Hluhluwe Game Reserve, the oldest game reserve in Africa, in search for the Big Five! This game reserve is world famous for saving the black and white rhino from extinction. Explore the reserve where you may have the chance of finding elusive “Big Five”, as well as many other varieties and species of mammals and birds. Catch a glimpse of the old Africa where the mighty beasts once reigned supreme. Lunch today is included in the tour price. At 12h30 we will arrive at Hilltop Camp the main camp of Hluhluwe Game Reserve, perched high on a hill overlooking the majestic hills and valleys of this pristine game reserve. Lunch in their local restaurant – why not try their famous Nyala Pie! Overnight at a lodge.

Day 3: NOVEMBER 2010
Route: Hluhluwe – Shakaland - Durban
After breakfast it is time to bid this wildlife sanctuary farewell as we head back south towards Eshowe to Shakaland – home of the great Zulu King Shaka. Today we will enjoy the Nandi Experience (Zulu Cultural Experience) – named after King Shaka’s wife – Nandi. An informative audio-visual presentation kicks off this wonderful experience. We are guided, by the local Shakaland Guide around a traditional Kraal. Riveting lectures and stories of typical Zulu customs and traditions are told in true imaginative Zulu style. Witnesses the Sangoma (witchdoctor) throwing her bones, or watch the pretty Zulu maidens go about their daily chores. Of course a Zulu Cultural Experience would be incomplete with out a performance of true thundering Zulu dancing and singing from the Zulu warriors and maidens. We sit down to a traditional Zulu lunch, Zulu stew, and pap and samp and beans are just a few of the delicious items you will sample. After lunch we are wished Hamba Kahle by the Zulu Warrior – meaning go well, return to Durban arriving at approximately 16h30 where your tour will terminate.

PRE TOUR Route: Cape Town
On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by a representative from Shaka Tours and Safaris and transferred to the Waterfront Holiday Inn or similar.
POST TOUR Route: Durban – Cape Town
Morning transfer to Durban International Airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by a representative from Shaka Tours and Safaris and transferred to the Waterfront Holiday Inn or similar.
After lunch (client’s own account) depart and travel through the City of Cape Town including the Bo-Kaap and Malay Quarter drive up Kloof Nek to the lower cable station where we board the new cable car which takes under 5 minutes to reach the summit of Table Mountain at 1036 meters above sea level. The views of the city and surrounds are spectacular. (Please note cost of cable car ticket is not included as this is weather dependent).
Overnight at the Waterfront Holiday Inn or similar for the next three nights inclusive of breakfast.

Day 2: NOVEMBER 2010
Route: Cape Peninsular Tour
After breakfast we depart and travel down the Atlantic coastline with majestic mountain and sea views where we stop for a photo opportunity along the coastal road. We make a stop at Hout Bay harbour where you can stroll around the harbour and visit the fish market and shops. Afterwards continue over Chapmans Peak to Noordhoek and to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve where we visit Cape Point. We take the funicular ride to the top with spectacular views of False Bay. Afterwards travel to Boulders Beach where we view the African Jackass penguins, the only penguin species found on the African continent. Drive through Simonstown the headquarters of the South African Navy and continue up the False Bay coast. Our last stop of the day is at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens where we spend a brief time walking through the magnificent display of flora the Cape has to offer. Return to the Waterfront Holiday Inn or similar in the late afternoon.

Day 1: NOVEMBER 2010
Early morning transfer to Durban International Airport for your flight to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport you will be met by a representative from Shaka Tours and Safaris.
Depart from Port Elizabeth and travel via Humansdorp and the Tsitsikamma Forest, approximately 30% of the park is covered in fynbos (Cape Floral kingdom), scattered amongst the forest vegetation, boasting a wide variety of beautiful flowers, including proteas and heath.
We continue to Knysna where we spend the next two nights at the Protea Knysna Quays Hotel or similar inclusive of breakfast and dinner.
Knysna is one of the Southern Cape coasts best known holiday destinations, situated between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon - it offers many activities and attractions of a wide variety. The most well known attraction being the heads - two great sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea. The Knysna Lagoon is one of the few places along the coast and in the world that supports an oyster hatchery. And the Knysna oysters are reputedly among the tastiest.

DAY 2: NOVEMBER 2010
After breakfast at the hotel, we take a short stroll to the Knysna Railway Station where we board the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe train for George. When this railway line was built it was regarded as the most expensive piece of clickety clack in the world. Today it is billed as the most beautiful. Traveling onboard the train is like being present at an animated art exhibition, each kilometer presenting a new canvas that calls forth exclamations of pleasure.
12:00 Arrive at George Station where we board our coach and travel via the Outeniqua Pass to Oudshoorn the ostrich capital of the world. We enjoy lunch served at the Highgate Ostrich Farm, after lunch a guide will take us on a tour of the farm. We also visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch one of the leading breeders of cheetah in Africa, and one of the largest in the world. Experience the thrill of stroking one of the hand reared cheetahs. We return to Knysna in the late afternoon.

After breakfast we depart and travel via Mossel Bay to Riversdale and Swellendam we continue to Cape Town arriving in the late afternoon. The Waterfront Holiday Inn or similar will be our overnight stop for the next three nights inclusive of breakfast.

Morning at leisure to relax at the hotel or to explore the Waterfront on your own. Route: Johannesburg across Highveld and Machadadorp to KrugerNational Park
After breakfast depart from your hotel at 08h00 and travel east to the spectacular Mpumalanga. Early lunch stop on route for client’s own account. Arrival at our lodge – Hippo Hollow Country Estate (or similar) situated on the banks of the SabiRiver and just 10 minutes from KrugerNational Park. Hippo Hollow has a timeless “out of Africa” feel. Check in procedures will be followed by an afternoon/early evening game drive. As yet another adventure under the African blue skies draws to an end, enjoy a cocktail on the patio overlooking the SabiRiver, where you may hear the laughter of the hippopotamus, or the daunting call of the fiery necked nightjar. Dinner this evening is in the lodge’s restaurant. After dinner retire to your chalet.

Early morning wake up call for your Game Drive. Tea/Coffee will be served before you begin the day with an early morning Game Drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, the remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy the many facilities this lodge has to offer. Perhaps a bush walk or a helicopter flip are the order of the day. Speak to your tour guide for further information. An afternoon siesta is recommended before departing on your afternoon/early evening game drive is search of the “Big Five”. Return to the lodge for dinner.

On arrival at OR Tambo International Airport check in for your domestic flight to Durban. On Arrival in Durban transfer to your Hotel for the North Sea Jazz Festival.

After an early breakfast, depart from the Lodge and travel to the Golela Border Post where we enter the Kingdom of Swaziland. Continue via Big bend to Manzini travel to the Ezilwini Valley visit different Craft Markets including the Swazi Candle makers. Afterwards travel to The Foresters Arms Hotel or similar for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast we depart from the hotel and travel to Mbabane where we visit the African Market afterwards continue to Piggs Peak and visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory en route continue via Piggs Peak to Jeppe’s Reef border post. After clearing custom formalities travel via Malelane to the Kruger National Park for some afternoon game viewing (Game viewing conducted with the coach). In the late afternoon depart from the Kruger National Park and travel to Protea Hazyview Hotel or similar located 5 minutes drive from the Park. Enjoy dinner in the boma at the hotel.

Early morning depart from the hotel on a game drive in the Kruger National Park on an open safari vehicle late morning return to the hotel for breakfast, After breakfast enjoy some time at leisure. After lunch (cost of lunch not included) we again depart on an open vehicle game drive into the Park. We leave from the park in the late afternoon and return to Protea Hazyview Hotel or similar. Enjoy dinner at the Boma.

After a hearty breakfast, our journey to Johannesburg begins with a visit to the breathtaking Panorama Route featuring God's Window and a short visit to the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest. Continue via Machadorp and Witbank to Johannesburg arriving late afternoon / early evening .Our tour ends with a drop off at your hotel or at the Johannesburg International Airport.
